The non-commercial program, underwritten by the United Health Foundation, is hosted by former Nashville news anchor Amy Marsalis. The program is designed to bring relevant and timely health information to the public, raise awareness of important health issues, and provide information and resources for improving the health status of Tennesseans.
Amy Marsalis is an Emmy award winning news reporter and anchor for five television stations, including Nashville’s NewsChannel5. She has a strong background in medical reporting and is involved in heart and cancer awareness in Middle Tennessee.
Community Health Matters is broadcast on WTVF’s sister station, NewsChannel5+, which is delivered via cable and over the air to more than 640,000 homes in Middle Tennessee. In Nashville, the show airs on Comcast Cable Ch. 250. The program airs on the second Monday of each month at 9:30 a.m. Central Time, with an encore showing on the second Wednesday of the month at 1 p.m Central. The program is also streamed live at the time it airs on NewsChannel5.com.
